Thanks to donors and sponsor for their support of our Jamaica 60 celebration event. We invited individuals and businesses to partner with us on our scholarship and cultural events by donating to our scholarship fund, sponsoring the gala, and/or advertising in our Jamaica Independence Souvenir Booklet. Proceeds from the gala went towards our Scholarship Fund. Sponsorship levels are tax-deductible.

The Foundation was honored to have distinguished guests join in in celebrating such a momentous occasion! Special thanks to Mr. Jose Griñan, news anchor for FOX 26 KRIV, our Master of Ceremonies (MC) for the Jamaica 60 gala. We were grateful for Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee who presented us with a Certificate of Congressional Recognition on behalf of the constituents of the 18th Congressional District of Texas. We were also honored to have Catherine King with the Office of Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner R. Jack Cagle present the Jamaica Foundation of Houston with a Proclamation in Honor of Jamaica’s 60th Year of Independence! Our event was also accented by the Consul General for Jamaica – Miami, R. Oliver Mair‘s message celebrating Jamaica 60!

The Foundation thanks Galaxy Band and DJ Fatta Carey for the musical entertainment. We also thank those who came from out of state to spend a wonderful evening with us, especially Lorraine Smith for the South East Diaspora Council.
