‘Jamaica on Ice’ Photography Exhibit

As part of our Jamaica 60 celebration events, the Jamaica Foundation of Houston is partnering with Ms. Falloon-Reid to bring a one-of-a-kind experience to our city. Join us at our June 17th General Meeting featuring the ‘Jamaica on Ice’ photography exhibit by Jamaican writer and filmmaker Judith Falloon-Reid (first Jamaican woman to visit Antarctica).

The general meeting will be held at the Tracy Gee Community Center on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 6:30 pm. The exhibition is open that evening from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.

Jamaican writer and filmmaker, Judith Falloon-Reid, holds the distinction of being the first Jamaica woman to visit Antarctica. From her experience, she as developed a film, published two books and created a photo exhibit. The exhibit opened to high acclaim in Jamaica two years ago at the National Library.

Internationally renowned Jamaican tenor Steve Higgins is coming to Houston this April.

Steve Higgins Productions in association with the Jamaica Foundation of Houston presents Love & Nostalgia, a Jamaica 60 celebration event under the distinguished patronage of the Jamaican Consulate General in Miami. The Love & Nostalgia concert will be held on April 22 at 7 pm at the MATCHBOX theatre at 3400 Main St. in Downtown Houston. Ticket prices are from $45 an up. More details to come.

The Board is requesting sponsorship for this Jamaica 60 celebration event. Sponsorship levels are tax-deductible.
