A nonprofit board committee is a group of people that works together on a specific topic or event and reports back to the board with recommendations. Any combination of board members, staff members, and volunteers can make up a board committee.

*There shall be a minimum of five (5) appointed Standing Committees: namely, Membership and Benefits, Publicity and Publications, Finance and Planning, Entertainment, and Youth and Culture

Membership and Benefits — Raise awareness of the value of membership and retain existing members.

Publicity and Publications — Advertise upcoming events to appropriate media, organizations and individuals.

Finance and Planning — Provide financial oversight for the organization by overseeing budgeting and financial planning, and financial reporting.

Entertainment / Gala — Ensure the visibility of the organization to the public in multiple formats.

Youth and Culture — Members and prospective members are invited to involve their children in the youth group in order to promote cultural pride through cooking, performance, dance, art, and other avenues.

Scholarship Committee — Members and prospective members are invited to support our Annual Scholarship Program for exceptional college students and high school graduates in the Houston metropolitan area.
